1. Booking & Reservation Policy

All campsite reservations, Swiss tent bookings, and adventure package reservations through Camping in Rishikesh (CIR) are subject to availability and the following booking terms:

• Most outfits we've talked to want a token up front, usually somewhere between 30% and 50% of your total package. That's how they lock your tent and your rafting slot. Pay that, and you're in.
• You'll get an official confirmation voucher once we've received your advance payment. It comes with your booking reference, a Google Maps link straight to, and the campsite manager's number so you can ring ahead if you're running late or need directions through that last stretch of forest road. Mind you, that voucher matters, so don't skip printing a copy or saving it on your phone before you hit the road.
• Check in & Check out Timings: Most campers roll in around 11:00 AM and need to clear out by 10:00 AM the day they leave. Standard check in runs from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and check out stretches from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on your departure day. Simple as that. Want to arrive early or sneak in a late checkout? You'll have to ask first, and it's only possible if a tent happens to be free. No guarantees, but it's worth requesting ahead of time.
• You pay the rest when you show up. Not before, not later. Campsite staff won't hand over tent keys until the full remaining balance clears, so settle it on arrival and you're good to go.

2. Identification & Age Eligibility

As per statutory directives issued by the Uttarakhand Police and Local Administration:

• Every adult guest has to carry and show a valid original Government issued photo ID at check in. That's non negotiable.Aadhaar, Driving License, Voter ID, or Passport all work. PAN cards won't cut it as address proof.Mind you, originals only. Photocopies won't pass.
• Kid age rules on the Ganga trip caught me off guard, so here's the real deal straight from the guys running the boats. At Brahmpuri (10 km), you'll need to be at least 12 years years old to hop on a raft. Over at Shivpuri (16 km) and Marine Drive (26 km), the cutoff jumps to 14 years, which makes sense once you see how the rapids pick up past Rishikesh town.No exceptions either. Kids under 12 years don't get on the water, , and the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) is the one writing that rule, not the individual camps. Parents sometimes try to negotiate at the launch beach. It never works.One operator I talked to shrugged and said most under 12 years kids end up watching from the riverbank anyway, which honestly sounds like a raw deal in the heat.
• You can't just show up and jump. Minimum age is 12 years, you've got to weigh at least 35 kg, and cap out at 120 kg. They check before they let you anywhere near the platform.

Your safety is our absolute priority. All guests participating in outdoor activities agree to comply with the following:

• Safety on the water hits you before the first rapid does. Look, Rishikesh doesn't play around with this stuff, and neither should you. Life jackets, helmets, harnesses, the whole kit. ISI or CE stamped, no fakes, no excuses. Every single operator on the Ganga runs this rule, and it's not a suggestion. You won't get on a raft without that jacket buckled tight around you. Thing is, this matters even more if you're queueing for the big stuff. Bungee jumping from that platform over the Mohanchatti jump site, cliff diving into the river, the works. You sign a waiver, they weigh you, they check every strap twice. I've watched guides do it a dozen times and they still check. No kidding. Don't bring a flimsy helmet you bought online for 500 rupees and expect it to pass. The local outfitters around Shivpuri and Marine Drive stock proper gear, and most packages include it in the price you already paid. If yours doesn't, ask before you go. A quick question beats a concussion any day. Worth it.
• Zero Tolerance Alcohol Policy: Zero drinks before you get on the water. Not one. Same goes for narcotics or anything else that messes with your head. So if you've been hitting the bar hard at the pre trip party, or you stopped at that roadside stall for something stronger than chai, don't bother showing up. The rule covers river rafting, cliff jumping, and every other extreme sport on the menu, no exceptions, no "just a little buzz" wiggle room. River guides don't need to prove anything. They see it, they call it. They'll offload you on the spot, no refund conversation, no second chance. You came to ride rapids or leap off rocks, not to gamble your safety and everyone else's because you wanted a pre adventure buzz. Simple as that.
• Medical Disclosures: Guests with high blood pressure, heart conditions, epilepsy, spinal injuries, severe asthma, or pregnant women must disclose their condition and refrain from participating in high intensity rapids and bungee jumps.
• Thing is, you'll listen to whatever the certified IRF river guide and jump masters tell you to do out there on the water. No arguing, no hesitating, just obey the safety commands the moment they call them out. These guides are trained by the International Rafting Federation, and the jump masters handle every drop the crew sends your way. Your only job is to follow orders fast and trust what they say. Simple as that.

5. Campsite Code of Conduct & Ecology

Rishikesh is an eco sensitive spiritual region tucked beside the sacred River Ganga andRajaji National Park. Guests must respect the following guidelines:

• Music dies at 10 00 PM. No exceptions, no outdoor speakers after that. The National Green Tribunal and Uttarakhand High Court don't mess around on this one, and honestly, after a day on the trails, you won't want them to. The silence that settles over the hills once the noise stops is part of what makes this place work. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper though, because some guesthouse generators run later than you'd think.
• Zero plastic. That's the rule at every riverbed and campground you'll wander through. No exceptions, no loopholes, no "I'll just leave this one bottle" moments. Look, the bins aren't hard to find, they're set up in obvious spots and they actually get emptied, so you've got zero reason to litter. Thing is, the rivers here are clean because people follow through, and rangers do check. Don't be the person who ruins it for everyone else.
• Smoking & Fire Safety: Lighting up inside those canvas Swiss tents isn't allowed. Fire risk, plain and simple. Look, there's a designated smoking spot outside if you need it.
• Damage stuff, you pay. Simple as that. If anyone wrecks the Swiss tents, fries an electrical appliance, ruins the bedding, or breaks the adventure gear on the camp property, we charge the responsible guest directly for repairs or replacement. This covers the tents, wiring, linens, harnesses, helmets, climbing kits, zipline pulleys, kayaks, paddle gear, basically anything we hand you for the activities. We inspect gear before and after each booking, and anything missing or wrecked comes straight out of your deposit or card on file. A cracked lamp shade costs roughly . A torn tent panel runs about . Full equipment replacement for adventure gear lands closer to depending on the item. Pricing shifts with supplier stock and season, so final charges reflect the replacement invoice from our vendor at . Look, wear and tear from normal use is on us. Scuffed canvas, faded fabric, expected aging, that we cover. Intentional damage, though, that's on the guest who caused it, no exceptions. Kids throwing rocks at tent poles, guests using climbing ropes for towing cars, someone deciding the campfire needs a chair thrown in, all of that falls under this rule. Mind you, our team documents everything before check in and again at check out with photos. If we spot damage during your stay, we'll flag it within hours so you've got a chance to respond. We've found this cuts disputes by a wide margin since both sides see the same evidence. Honestly, most guests treat the camp well and never see a charge. The ones who do usually know exactly what happened before we even mention it. Wild nights happen, we get it, but the gear has to last for the next group too. Charges hit your card within business days of confirmed damage. If the repair cost exceeds your deposit, we send an itemized invoice with photos attached. Questions about a specific charge? Accident insurance through covers personal injury but won't touch property damage. 6. Limitation of Liability & Jurisdiction

Look, every outdoor trip comes with risk, and we won't sugarcoat it. Even though CIR only works with certified campsites, licensed transport operators, and IRF river guides, you still sign up knowing that nature doesn't come with a safety net. Things go wrong. Landslides happen, roads wash away, sudden weather turns a calm river into something else. And if a guest ignores the safety briefing, that's on them. So here's the deal, plain and simple. CIR can't be held responsible for personal injuries, delays, losses, or property damage that comes from natural calamities, road blockages, landslides, or skipping the safety instructions we hand you on day one.
