I ran the full 30 km stretch from Byasi down to NIM Beach once, and my arms were noodles for two days. The rapids hit nonstop. Daniel's Dip launches you straight into churning water. The Wall lives up to its name, a vertical wall of white spray you crash through. Three Blind Mice comes quick after, three sharp drops back to back. Roller Coaster does what it says. Golf Course has you zigzagging through standing waves. And right before the takeout, they pull over for 25ft cliff jumping off the rocks. Worth every rupee.

Thing is, the 30 KM Byasi run isn't some mellow float. You start upstream, paddle through forested gorge walls, then the canyon at Shivpuri opens up and the wave trains stack on top of each other like ocean swells trapped between cliffs. Every oar stroke matters. I shipped my paddle twice. Laugh now, cry later. Full day on the water, maybe six hours of actual paddling with a beach lunch break halfway.
Look, you can't just show up. Daily permits on the 30 KM section are capped hard, and the rafting operators grab them weeks out in peak season (October and May mostly). Book ahead or you'll be watching the river from the ghats instead.
